Darlington Social Housing Refurbishment is extended
Larsen Contracts has been given an additional further 40 houses to repair as part of the Concrete repair works to 530 properties across 2 social housing estates for Darlington Borough Council. Larsen Contracts secured the contact on value, supported by over 30 years’ experience in the discipline of Concrete Repair.
It is now envisaged that the contract based at Firthmoor & Haughton estates will be completed in May 2012 Larsen Contracts Ltd is using predominantly local labour supported by their existing management. The contract commenced in December 2011. The works carried out by Larsen will involve repair to Structural Concrete Boot lintels which were in common use in housing projects during the 1960s and 70s.
Larsen has developed a cost effective remedial system for the problem of these spalled concrete boot lintels. This is long term solution which is finished with an anti-carbonation coating system that retains the appearance of the existing structural element and provides protection to the reinforcement. This methodology has limited impact on the tenants and the environment.
